Happy Saturday! I hope you’ve been having a great weekend so far!
Last night we puppysat little Jake while my mom enjoyed some time with friends. Hunter and Bailey absolutely loved playing with Jake all evening. Honestly, it was exhausting just watching! Youtube video to come. Just you wait.
Here are a couple shots from this morning.
As if the dogs weren’t tired enough from sprinting around, we decided to take them on a nice walk around with the neighborhood with su madre. It was nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine!
This is what it looked like on the day of it’s gardeney birth.
Not too shabby, eh?
We really had an awesome harvest last summer (can I call that a harvest? sounds like we cut down 30 acres of corn. and fed 50 cows. but we just had some cucumbers. and made some pickles. yum.)
Anyway — after an entire year, the garden didn’t look this spectacular. In fact, it didn’t even look good.
So, today we pulled out all the weeds that weren’t killed over our non-winter. We tilled the soil and added fresh new soil to replenish the nutrients in the ground. We also added a weed blocker on the path between the beds and mulched over top.
I don’t even have a before picture; it was just too embarrassing. You would have judged. Heck, I judged.
Here is the fruit of our labor.
It’s still too early to plant anything here in Maryland. Hence why you only see the booming strawberries.
You can see the weed blocker under the mulch a little bit in this picture…
We also trimmed up some of our shrubbies.
AND potted some new indoor plants.
At least we had these mutts to keep us entertained..
Yes, that’s a legit hop. Who says red dogs can’t jump? Oh, no one says that. Right.
We’re both pretty dang tired from our long day. Now we’re off to relax at my mom’s and get entranced by the bonfire.
How was your day??? Have you done any planting lately?
