Doesn’t a perfect weekend make going back to work seem even more difficult? Going to West Virginia is such an oasis. Every time I go there for the weekend I feel life slow down a little bit and I can feel myself letting the stresses of every day life go. Alex and I are constantly daydreaming of playing hooky from work and just stay there indefinitely. I’m sure after awhile we would be ready to get back to the hustle and bustle of working life — but man, is it nice to just take a break. I always wonder if that’s what life is like for people who live in the area and other similar areas.
We had a weekend full of hiking, cooking, and laughing. We celebrated the Fourth of July with quality sparklers and bottle rockets purchased at the local WalMart. We bought matching red, white, and blue shirts and had a delicious home cooked chicken, corn on the cob, zucchini & squash, and dessert! We always out do ourselves in WV and leave with way more food than we came with. Here are some pictures from our wonderful, fun, and relaxing weekend. I hope you had as enjoyable as a weekend as we did 🙂
My mom has a slight obsession of keeping the ground hogs out of our yard. A big thanks to Alex for making our new door and to Anissa and Joe for stopping by the property when they were in town to make new guards on the vents! I cannot tell you how excited my mom was when she saw them 🙂
We had some fun playing with fireworks.
We took the opportunity to cheese it us for the camera
And we may have kissed…
We did a little dancing with sparklers…
And cheesed it up some more…

It’s always bittersweet to come home. On one hand it’s nice to be back in your own bed, but on the other it’s sad to be back to reality. I’m thankful we have the house available to us and we’re able to take advantage of it as much as possible!
Back to the real world… erg.
