Apparently Alex had ulterior motives for coming to West Virginia this weekend!
Here’s the story:
I guess a couple weeks ago he bought the ring and was waiting for the right moment. We’ve had this trip planned for a month now and he decided to wait till we were here. Last weekend Alex asked permission from my mom, who told JoHutch and also my brother Chris, who told his girlfriend, other family friends, and their tow-truck driver (another story for another day). So I guess everyone has been waiting anxiously all weekend for the big moment to happen.
This afternoon Alex asked me if I wanted to take a walk. Not thinking it was anything out of the ordinary — I obliged. We walked to the front of the property where there is a half-finished cabin that we’ve been oogling for months. As we walked around the house we were both looking out the window at the beautiful view of the mountains. In order to get the best view we were both kneeling to look out the window — when I stood up and turned around he was still kneeling behind me. I immediately got nervous and started shaking 🙂 He then proceeded to tell me how much he loves me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and pulled out the box! (Honestly I thought he was just kidding until the ring came out). We both cried and of course I said yes!
Champagne to come 🙂 🙂
